Editorial Policy
1. Our Mission Statement
NHA Wire is founded on the belief that a well-informed public is the cornerstone of a free society. Our mission is to provide accurate, unbiased, and comprehensive news coverage that empowers our readers to understand the complex forces shaping our world—from geopolitics and economics to technology and culture.
We do not tell you what to think; we give you the facts so you can decide for yourself.
2. Independence and Non-Partisanship
NHA Wire is an independent news organization.
No Political Affiliation: We are not aligned with any political party, government, or ideology. We cover all sides of the political spectrum with equal scrutiny.
Commercial Independence: Our editorial decisions are made solely by our editors, based on news value and public interest. Our advertisers, sponsors, and business partners have zero influence over our coverage. There is a strict “firewall” between our commercial team and our newsroom.
3. Story Selection Criteria
We select stories based on:
Significance: Does this event impact the lives, safety, or prosperity of our audience?
Timeliness: Is this information new and urgent?
Public Interest: Does this story reveal information that the public has a right to know?
Global Relevance: As an international wire service, we prioritize stories that have cross-border implications.
4. Sourcing and Attribution
Transparency is the key to trust.
Named Sources: We prioritize on-the-record interviews. We believe readers deserve to know who is providing the information.
Anonymous Sources: We use anonymous sources only when the information is vital and the source faces potential harm (e.g., whistleblowers). We always explain to readers why a source has been granted anonymity.
Links to Evidence: Whenever possible, we link directly to primary documents, raw data, or unedited video so readers can verify our reporting for themselves.
5. Separation of News and Opinion
To prevent confusion, we maintain a strict visual and labeling distinction between “News” and “Opinion.”
News Reporting: Factual, objective, and free from the reporter’s personal views.
Opinion & Analysis: Clearly labeled as “Opinion,” “Editorial,” or “Commentary.” These pieces represent the views of the author and are intended to provoke thought and debate.
6. Fairness and Right of Reply
We are committed to fairness. If our reporting criticizes an individual or organization, or alleges wrongdoing:
We make a genuine effort to contact them for comment prior to publication.
We include their perspective or denial in the story to ensure a balanced account.
7. Hate Speech and Dangerous Content
While we believe in free speech, NHA Wire will not provide a platform for:
Hate speech that incites violence against protected groups.
Gratuitous gore or obscenity that serves no news value.
Medical misinformation that poses an immediate threat to public health.
8. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage
NHA Wire embraces technology but believes journalism is a human endeavor.
We do not publish stories written entirely by AI.
We do use AI tools for data analysis, transcription, and translation, but all output is verified and edited by human journalists.
We do not use AI to generate realistic images (deepfakes) that could mislead our audience.
9. Compliance
This Editorial Policy works in tandem with our Code of Ethics, Privacy Policy, and Corrections Policy. All NHA Wire staff and freelancers are required to adhere to these standards.
